Here you will see a design portfoilio of past projects that our designer (Daniel Lucas) has completed.
Daniel has obtained a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from West Virginia University. After graduating in 2003, he went on to work 5-1/2 years for a nationally recognized design firm specializing in the pofessional practice of landscape architecture. Design skills such as grading, drainage, structural ratings, soil stability, study of plants, local building code are all part of this experience. Any one of these issues could be the cause of disasterous consequences should a retaining wall fall over or water start creeping into your basement. For these reason's alone, it is always a smart decision to talk with an experienced design professional prior to starting your landscape project. Daniel has the background and experience to provide you the highest quality of landscape design as well as answer your questions.
OUR DESIGNS ARE FREE TO OUR CUSTOMERS. However, if you would like a "bid plan" for our competitors to bid, we would still be happy to provide the service for a nominal fee ranging from $300 for the smallest of jobs to upwards of $2,000 for larger jobs (every job is different). Feel free to send Daniel an email at daniel@lucaslandscaping.com if you are interested in this service. In the mean time, take a look at the following design examples. Click on any image to see a fullsize printable cutsheet. More will come....we have some really neat designs in the works right now. We are going to be putting a little extra effort into our designs this year to really prove that we are the best.
Schematic design is typically the quickest and easiest type of landscape planning. Lucas Landscaping offer's this design service free of charge to potential customers and would be more than happy to meet you at your project location to talk about some quick ideas for your landscape project. Typically we have a 5 day design turnaround time period. After our initial site meeting you will have something to look at within 5 days. We know that people don't want to wait months just for ideas. You're project is a priority and we want all of our clients to feel that way.

This set of graphics displays various three dimensional drawings produced with one of our computer programs. Have an upcoming hardscape project? These graphics allow you to get a better look at various aspects (to scale). If your going to spend thousands of dollars on a beautiful stone patio...it is always a good idea to be completely comforatable with the final design to avoid costly changes and proportion differences. Once the 3d model is constructed you rotate around the entire model and view the project from different angles. The typical model takes roughly 5 (plus/minus) hours to construct given a specific design choice (plan view).
Below you will see a few of the designs and drawings completed while working as a landscape architect in the carolinas. The following examples really demonstrate the limits of our presentation capabilities. Some of these drawings don't pertain to a small scale landscape project, but nonetheless, they are a good indicator of professional experience. Almost all of the plans that you will see below were drawn on thin "trash" paper with pen and ink and then colored with marker or digitally in adobe photoshop.
Below you will see a collection of formal AutoCAD plans and drawings that demonstrate our capablities here. If you find yourself in need of a more formal plan for approval purposes, we are more than happy to assist you. Also, to all of you engineers and building architects out there, we offer AutoCAD drafting services as well. So please feel free to ask if this service seems to fit your current need.
